Re: Slicing

Thanks for pointing that out, wouldn't have noticed that. It is really the best thing around though. Good to keep those kinds of restrictions in mind. Is that a problem, op?

Re: Slicing

It is very easy to slice an STL into 2D parts using the free program 123d Make from autodesk. You bring in the STL and tell it which axes to slice and the construction method (stacked slices, interlocking slices, etc.)

Here is a full tutorial on how to do it.

Re: Help finding Material

Inventables has 12" x 12" pieces of Corian in 1/2" and 1/4". Here is the link.

The usual disclaimer any time I mention Inventables: I work there :)

Update on that gcode download issue: it was fixed in an Easel update that went out this afternoon. Let me know if you have any more problems with it.

Re: Easel gcode troubles

You do not have to "launch" Easel Local per se. It is just a script that runs in the background which communicates with the Easel web app. You connect to your machine and run jobs through the web app.

Re: Using Easel without internet connectivity

Just a heads up, gcode downloading is broken right now in Safari 7. It sounds like the issue you are describing. I'm working on a fix for it right now, but in the meantime you'll have to use a different browser for downloading gcode. Chasing browser compatibility is a fools errand... but I'll keep d...

Not currently, that is one of the 250 things they say should be ready "soon". They are a small team so it takes time to roll out new features. Hit the nail on the head about the small team. We are rolling our features as fast as we can! But maybe I can shed a bit more light on the issue. We are wor...
