SOLD For Sale: J-Tech Photonics 3.8W Laser kit with extras

SOLD! For sale is a 3.8W J-Tech Photonics Laser Diode and Driver kit. The laser itself only has about 3 hours on it (this was a replacement laser, received just a few days ago). The driver has been used around 20 hours. It comes with the laser, driver, glasses, two keys, and my extras include an e-s...

Re: Is anyone using J-Tech's version of GRBL with their lase

One more question... Do you know anything about Pic Laser 3D? I'd like to do some 3D relief engravings, but I'm not sure if that's the only software I need. I signed up for their forum, but my account still hasn't been activated. PicLaser 3D is for combining 3D spindle relief gcode & Laser power gc...

Re: Is anyone using J-Tech's version of GRBL with their lase

The J-Tech GRBL is optimized for raster engraving. In order to optimize it, it had to remove the math portion for Arcs. If you use PicSender for Gcode sending, it allows you to save your GRBL settings and you can reflash the Arduino with any GRBL for the project your are doing. Some people will use...

Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll flash it again and see what happens. What sorts of materials have you cut with your laser?

Is anyone using J-Tech's version of GRBL with their laser?

I got the 2.8w laser and driver package yesterday. I decided to upgrade my Arduino to J-Tech's GRBL release. Upon doing so I encountered terrible arcs and bad step offsets. After reflashing and having the same issues I jumped to the stock GRBL .9 latest release. My arcs are great now (I'm just tryin...

Re: Thinking about moving Y axis plates to the inside, à la

I've mainly cut wood, so that's where my issue lies. My dust shoe gets mostly all of the large chips, and a fair amount of the dust. But that dust... It just covers everything! The rails end up getting caked with it, which of course leads to it clumping on the wheels. If I were to do it over again, ...

Re: Thinking about moving Y axis plates to the inside, à la

I couldn't come up with a better solution than standoffs either. I will say this: mounting to the outside doesn't protect the wheels as much as I thought they would.

Re: Dings in Makerslide Y-Axis - How bad is this?

I haven't completely reassembled it yet, but yes the dings are in the v-rail itself. As for filing a dispute, apparently this buyer has pulled similar antics before (discovered this after reading the feedback he left for other sellers and their replies), and so he knows how to game the system. He kn...

Dings in Makerslide Y-Axis - How bad is this?

Long story short, I sold my ShapeOko on eBay. The jerk buyer received the package, opened it, decided he didn't want to assemble it, then just threw the 1M Y rails in the box unprotected (luckily he hadn't unwrapped the rest of the parts). He returned the package to UPS and "refused" it. He claimed ...
