Re: 3d Printed DW660 Dust Shoe for 2.5" attachment

It could, but I've no longer got the DW660 to test it out on, I can release the Solidworks files if you want to take a go at modifying it.

But I think the zip tie is pretty easy and the shoe doesn't really get in the way after installation since its well above the chuck on the DW660.

It has a couple of slots around the dw660 port that let you put a zip tie in and secure around the neck of the router

3d Printed DW660 Dust Shoe for 2.5" attachment

Hey all, I finally got the office 3d printer working properly so had a chance to print out this dust shoe for my DW660. My current setup is a DW660, with a BucketHead vac attached through a simple separator to a 2.5" diameter flexible hose. This is then ducted into the dust shoe with a bit of straig...

Re: Possible Z-Axis skipping in 3d milling?

Huh, I had not considered it being the TinyG firmware. I had an edge build from a month or so ago but I'll update again and see if its any better I know they were fiddling around with a lot of things over the last couple of months so its quite possible. I'll try that tomorrow, hopefully it will fix ...

Possible Z-Axis skipping in 3d milling?

So I milled a lithophane last night, came out pretty good but I got one raised corner. Its clearly delineated and everything in that corner is raised. Any ideas what could be causing this? The piece was milled first with a roughing pass using a 1/8th ball nose, then the finishing pass with a 1/16th ...

Re: Circle Diamond Square test issues

Oh fair point, I have only got 3d printed mounts (albeit 100% infill PLA ones), and I am using the original Shapeoko 1 z-axis. I guess I'll just have to live with it for now, I want to rebuild the Z-axis anyway since its rather limited travel, and I have a nice 250mm x 80mm extrusion to replace it w...

Re: Circle Diamond Square test issues

Sadly I don't have any straight bits, I have a single flute 1/4" I could try but its still spiral. Any suggestions on where to pickup a good straight bit? I have thus far got most of my stuff from drillman1 but he doesn't have any straight bits as far as I can see. I would be surprised if its not ri...

Re: Circle Diamond Square test issues

Hey Will, I had thought that myself, so I went and adjusted the z axis current again. Managed to reduce the current by almost 50% which is great, the motor isn't running hot anymore. So I reran the test and if anything its actually worse now if anything than it was before. https://lh3.googleusercont...

Circle Diamond Square test issues

Hey all, Finally getting round to dialling in the accuracy on my Shapeoko so I ran the circle diamond square test on a piece of poplar I had lying around. Here's the results: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RyMaprfEUto/U8G6sG59nxI/AAAAAAAACo8/TSUaQ60YdMQ/w862-h647-no/IMG_20140712_142939.jpg https...

Re: Squaring gantry

Well currently i'm just assembling on a melamine table top. Its relatively flat, but obviously all table tops have some warp so it could be related. I'll get some of those lock washers when I get a chance and see if that helps. Still got a while before my controller turns up anyway so I have time to...
