I use a 1.90 mm from Precise Bits, P/N #RCC08-0748-032F

Re: Need PCB Milling Settings

Hey Scott, I have a couple question for you, I am new to pcb milling. I hope you can share with me your experience. 1)how do you derive at your feedrate? Is there a calculator you use or link you use? 2) Is there a difference between using 0.01 vs 0.0039 Precise Bits EM2E8 EM3E8 Etching Bits in ter...

Re: Fusion 360 post processing

With both the generic grbl post processor (with G28 disabled) and the post processor from HSM Express, Carbide Motion is refusing to load the resulting output because a lot of lines (with commands like G2 and G3 and at least one other, that I don't remember) are missing one or two of the I/J/K argu...

Re: i/o shield for limit switches, user buttons and controls

I've never milled a PCB, but I'm willing to give it a go. What's the trace width, and what diameter bit would I need to mill this board? I guess I also need a bit to drill the holes, which diameter for that? I love this 0.010" bit for PCBs: P/N C5 - PB-EM3E8-0100-25V http://www.soigeneris.com/preci...

Re: i/o shield for limit switches, user buttons and controls

I just meant if somebody wanted one for themselves, they could make it on the shapoko, I wasn't thinking about any sort of volume. It's probably a bit expensive to get it from OSH Park, unless you could split it 3 ways since you get 3 PCBs from them.

You should be able to just make one of these boards using the shapeoko. I make PCBs all the time.

Re: Fusion 360 post processing

Here's a link to the post processor I use for Fusion 360 with my Shapeoko 2. I've got gshield board running GRBL. http://a360.co/1DN28SS I started out with GRBL generic post and removed G28. I removed the tool change because I was getting errors (I think from bCNC). The folks at Autodesk made a modi...

Bocce Ball Holder

This is my largest project so far. It's a bocce ball holder and score keeper. This one is just a prototype so I can get the CAM setting dialed in. I haven't done much 3D milling prior to this. I'm using Fusion 360. The Fusion design is here if anyone wants to see it. The final version will be made o...

Re: Need PCB Milling Settings

By far the best bit I've used for making PCBs is the PreciseBits.com PCB Traces-isolation Bits EM3E8-0100-25V . You can get the same bit from soigeneris.com, P/N C5 - PB-EM3E8-0100-25V I've made over a dozen PCBs and haven't broken a bit yet. Previously with a 0.0118" 2-flute micro carbide mill lik...

Re: Scott216 Build Log

I zipped together the files for my input shield. There is a png file for the schematic and pcb. If you have Cadsoft Eagle, you can open up the included Eagle design files. I also added the gcode files I used to make my board on my Shapeoko. It's a two sided PCB. I use a tapered 0.010" end mill There...
