Re: Yet another set of DW660 mounting brackets (with files)

Drill the holes with a 5.5 mm bit. It helps to drill each side of the front clamp individually then run the bit all the way through to fix any alignment issues. You will need 4 M5x25mm screws and nuts to attach the mounts to the plate and 2 M5x35mm screws and nuts for the clamp at the front. Good l...

Re: Yet another set of DW660 mounting brackets (with files)

Here is the current DW660 mount. This is the one for the Shapeoko 2. As usual just rename and delete the .txt portion at the end. Awesome! That downloaded and opened just great! I guess I make two of these? Last (hopefull) question, where do the screw holes and screws go, and what sizes are prefera...

Re: Yet another set of DW660 mounting brackets (with files)

My suggestion would be to go back to the original, which is available in a .dxf version: https://github.com/shapeoko/ShapeOko/blob/master/upgrades/dw660_mount/DW660_Mount.dxf (also .pdf and .stp, whatever that is) That would be great. Now I'm not familiar with "github" and after 15 minutes of fiddl...

Re: Foam cutting?

How about this guy? http://hotwirefoamfactory.com/035_4in_Hot_Knife.html also available in other lengths. I'd recommend adding a fan as this stuff stinks to high heaven with toxic fumes. We have used one here at work to create model scenery. It cuts rather slowly so a slow feed rate would be necessa...

D/l the G-code. Use http://code.google.com/p/gcode2eps/ to convert to .eps Open the .eps in a tool such as InkScape, load into a program which will write out .dwg Hi, I'm just returning to this phase as I've been concentrating on the basic parts acquisition and assembly phase recently. I downloaded...

NEMA 23 carriage assembly diagram?

Hi, I'm building the carriages on my Shapeoko 2 with NEMA 23 option, but I do not see a modified assembly diagram. Clearly, the motors must be spaced out and the second set of holes must be used, else the bolts from the flat pulley interfere with the fit. I did not find a threads addressing this, bu...

Re: Which parts do I tap and where?

Thank you everyone for your replies. I was not too terrified by the horror stories as I have tapped open holes in the past, but it would be helpful to do it all at once rather than having to figure out from surrounding context what I should have already done. I urge the more experienced hands here t...
