The guts of a 300w eBay spindle.
I had ordered a 300w spindle from eBay for another project, and the spindle was very hard to turn by hand, I had contacted the eBay seller and they wanted me to power up the spindle as a test, the spindle only worked for a few seconds before my motor controller started to smoke, and the spindle turn...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2
How did you cut the top plate down? I have to do the same thing to gain clearance for my Makita. I used a bandsaw, but it still came out a little off, I have an 4" x 6" band saw that I got from Harbor Freight, I try to keep it squared up, but after a few months it starts to cut crooked again, I gue...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2
Someone had been nice enough to take a M8 threaded rod and try turning it down to 6mm for me, but I could never get the wobble out of the Z-Axis, so I went an ordered the Z-Axis upgrade and installed it. Top is the regular Shapeoko 2 M8 threaded rod. Middle is the M8 threaded rod with one end turned...

Re: Bosch Colt started squeaking, so I replaced the bearings
Does it still work Will? Yep it seems be functional, I remember reading something about letting the new bearings run with out using the Bosch Colt, so the bearings can adjust or burn-in, but I don't know how true that is, I did let it run for about 5 minutes and the squeaking was gone, I remo...

Bosch Colt started squeaking, so I replaced the bearings.
I recently pushed my Bosch Colt router a little to hard, when testing out my Mach3 configuration, and the bearings started squeaking, so I stared looking on the Internet for a fix. I found a few web pages: Bosch Colt Overheating http://www.microcarve.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=71 Bosch PR20EVSK Co...

will, Your limit switch setup looks very professional, and I was thinking of borrowing it, for my S2. What model and manufacturer switches did you use? I couldn't find them, in this thread. Thanks! - Alex I believe I got them on eBay over here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400619957434 Specification: Ov...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2
That is a good print, especially considering what your extruder is. The artifacts you see on the flat faces most likely come from the teeth of the drive wheel -- even if your stepper rotates evenly, the wheel, with its relatively large teeth, advances the filament unevenly. You also see some vibrat...

Re: will1384's Shapeoko 2
I decided to print a few more parts, like this Makerslide dial indicator holder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:43621 and wanted the part to be as accurate as possible, so I mounted the extruder like this. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-yqhPNdr1Eu4/UycQxLW6XkI/AAAAAAAADLY/U9jO3LpuHGY/s800/3d_pr...
