Re: is my carbide3d board is fried

I don't have one myself but some things to check:

Does the device show up on your operating system (e.g in device manager for Windows)?
Can you check the 5V voltage rail?
Are any of the chips on the board getting hot?

gShield v5 - Stepper driver hot/faulty (flaw with VCP connection)

Hi, Just wanted to make others aware of this flaw/issue with the gShield v5 that came with the ShapeOko 2 I received in 2014. I'm not sure if the flaw is still present in the v5 that is still being sold today but I have emailed the gShield manufacturer about this. A few weeks ago, after not using it...

Re: Need PCB Milling Settings

How many boards do you think the 0.0118 bits will last? They are quite pricey compared to the 0.1mm 10degree V-bits that I bought from ebay, though I'm on my third bit at the moment.

Re: Need PCB Milling Settings

Looking good! I'm going to order the .0118 two flute end-mill and give that a try, it looks like it'll work based on your results.

Re: Interested in Shapeoko v2 for PCBs

Thanks for the tips Edward. I'll have to take a look at the auto leveler in the new dev of GRBL soon. Doesn't look pretty but I did make the platen and it seems to work fine. I've stopped using any WD40/fluid to help with the milling. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m35/alexigs/th_IMG_3444_zpsb0c...

Re: Interested in Shapeoko v2 for PCBs

Thought I'd post an update on this, I received the Shapeoko 2 about 2 months ago, built it up without any major issues but I did reference a quick video of someone building one too, to make sure I was doing it right - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42wzq5vG5rU I firstly bought some 0.1mm 20degree V...
