Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Hey Louis I don’t know if I should thank you or curse you! I was perfectly happy with my expanded and modified Shapeoko until I say your post…. Now I want the Shapeoko HD ;) I have been very happy with my Shapeoko 2 and learnt a lot about cnc but I think its time “scale up” and bulid a more rigid ma...

Re: stormtrooper ingraving

Thanks :)

I did no sanding or any after work.
That is normally needed when I'm cutting in normal plywood.

stormtrooper ingraving

Hello I got inspired by Will Winders Comics art, But instead of painting the wood i used some water-resistant plywood I made at DXF from at stromtrooper picture. The job took about 1 hour and 15 min. and was done with a 2mm bit. The size i 40x50cm IMG_3612-l.jpg IMG_3611-l.jpg IMG_3602-l.jpg

Re: Tool Diameter

I did use a 8mm bit to level my waste board

I took 2mm pass at 1500mm/m on a 1250x80cm cutting area. I was very successful, but that was also MDF.

Here is a video clip, with the 8mm

Re: Kress 1050

Hi

I made this plate for my Kress.
My isn't getting to hot, not even after 2 hours of milling (full speed). I guess its the large aluminum take up the heat.

Re: Non circular holes and lack of precision?

all my milling was done conventional, i did try climb... much worse! Today i used a dial indicator, so we could get some numbers on the deflection :) 1. I think that the steel bar, between the two pieces of Makerslide did make it more rigid. I measured the deflection on the X-axis Makerslide to be 0...

Re: Non circular holes and lack of precision?

Hi My number 1 concern was non circular holes. This is what i have done so far: I bought a 4x40x1000 piece stainless steel bar to be sandwich in-between the two x-axis maker slide. IMG_3408l.jpg IMG_3410l.jpg IMG_3414l.jpg The modification help, but only very little. I guess that the rest of the def...
