Check out my suggestion from this post. I don't know if anyone has ever tried this though.

Re: Another scaling up question

Re: A new Z-axis nut - metal on metal w/ built in anti-backl

I was really just doing it for fun, experimentation, and practice in designing for 3D printed parts to print on my new Printrbot Simple. I recently bought some filament on Amazon and ended up buying a pack of the cross dowel nuts to play with. I did notice that when removing the delrin nut there was...

Re: Anti-backlash Nut Solution Available?

I bought the M8 barrel nuts linked above from amazon to try them out. I redesigned the anti-backlash nut design to fit the barrel nuts better while leaving the most meat I could to insure stregnth. It is designed to be 3D printed. I printed mine in PLA with .2mm layers and 20% infill. I will add the...

Re: Y belt idlers constraining X axis

I just sanded the outside lip of the smooth idler down a bit, in addition to trimming down the belt clamps. With those 2 mods you get close to 13 X 13 travel. You also need to make sure the dual makerslide is pushed all the way to the back of the slots on the Y motor plates. http://www.shapeoko.com/...

I just noticed yesterday that the price for the router dropped to 90 bucks at Home Depot.

Re: Setting up DW660 - I must be doing something wrong

Oh yea. This pertains to the post I linked to above. To get the new hole drilled in the back Z-plate for the previously unused motor standoff, I just rotated one of the Z-plates, ran some bolts through the side holes into the Z-plate to be drilled and tightened with nuts to clamp them down. Then you...

Re: Setting up DW660 - I must be doing something wrong

This is what I came up with and others have also successfully implimented this mod. To me it seems to be the cheapest and easiest way and it doesn't move the spindle out any farther than stock. http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=20248#p20248 I have another solution I'm working on that wil...
