Re: Raspberry Pi g-code senders for Grbl

I'm glad you posted this. I haven't looked at CNCJS in a long time and I'm really glad to see that it is still being developed. I really like that it allows the user to choose when to upgrade, unlike Chilipeppr. This has been my biggest complaint with Chilipeppr - the fact that getting everything te...

Re: Can't get chilipeppr to connect to grbl

i haven't had great results with probing with Chilipeppr and GRBL. I hope you have better luck. Let me know how it works out. Unfortunately, the GRBL workspace is not kept up to date as much as the TinyG workspace. I think John (the creator) finds TinyG to be much superior so he devotes all of his t...

Re: Can't get chilipeppr to connect to grbl

there shouldn't be. that's all i do is click the check box. i'm not sure why you have these crazy port names with spaces in them and why you are making links and things. Is that just how things are on a mac? I've only run SPJS on linux. I wonder if those spaces are throwing something off. If you don...

Re: Can't get chilipeppr to connect to grbl

you might want to take a video of what you are seeing. I think that would help folks diagnose your problem. Does the JSON server console print out anything when you connect? Does anything on Chilpeppr change when you check the box? Does GRBL report it is in HOLD?

Re: Chromecast wooden speaker box

thanks. hmm... do you mean the horizontal clamps i'm using to hold the work piece in place? If so, those are some horizontal work holding clamps I designed. They're available for download on thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:818842 oh, or maybe you mean the right angle box clamps that I ...

Chromecast wooden speaker box

Here's a video showing the build of a Chromecast speaker box. Really like the way it came out, and I'll do a later video on a speaker grille to cover the front.

Re: Have I stumbled across something awesome?

Here's a followup in case people are using this method for making electronics panels. I've been trying to spread the word about this idea for using metal photo prints for electronics panels. Original blog post is here: http://frankie.graffagnino.net/2015/03/new-way-of-making-electronics-front.html H...

Re: A real jog dial for shapeoko

No, it is X Y Z A, speed toggle. You want to be able to use the wheel to command the machine at various speeds. That is kind of the point. The inner wheel let's you move in specific increments. This is the same as the tormach CNC jog. See here: https://www.tormach.com/store/index.php?app=ecom&ns=pro...

Re: A real jog dial for shapeoko

The buttons are used for axis selection except for the one on the far right, which is used to toggle through the speeds. John's video is a bit long. If you just want to see it in action I would recommend my shuttlebox raspberry pi2 enclosure video. That video is in this thread a few posts up. I will...

Check your local rules, but I can't think of anything here that would be a problem.
