Re: Great Kerning Article

Great link. I learned about kerning the hard way. Read this and get it correct the first time.

F-engrave gave me kerning issues so I'll try a different workflow next time I carve some text!

Re: Booze/wine rack

That turned out so well! I thought the grating was metal before reading the build log details.

Re: Fusion 360 Self Un-installed

After properly un-installing from control panel -> add/remove programs, then re-installing, I now have F360 working again.
I must have registered at one time because I don't have any sort of free trial countdown showing at the top of the screen.

Fusion 360 Self Un-installed

My shortcut for Fusion 360 disappeared recently and I can no longer run the program. It seems to have disappeared from my computer! I went to re-install it a couple of times and it doesn't seem to complete the installation. Has this happened to anyone else? I thought this was free for "makers". Does...

Re: Finishing some engraved coasters

So is inkscape a good option to adjust letter to letter spacing (kerning)?
edit: I just answered my question. I pulled up the same font I used for HAWKS in inkscape and the kerning is much improved. I'll be changing my workflow next time I do this!

Re: Finishing some engraved coasters

Today I was able to finish a batch of coasters I will give as Christmas gifts. I really appreciate the finishing advice given above. I used sanding sealer before adding the black latex paint as suggested and it definitely helped prevent leakage out of the v groove engravings. It also resulted in a s...

Re: Fusion 360 lift z before first traverse?

I was using the F360 "grbl" post (which never did a +z before the initial move) until I came across the shapeoko specific one I linked to. So they are not exactly the same. The shapeoko post is doing a +z for me before the initial move, as expected.

I picked up some sanding sealer and will give this a try tonight. Thanks for the advice RobCee!
