Re: Aspire 4 v-carve & So2 = skipping z-axis

Will do. That's what Wilt was suggesting as well.

Thanks,

Re: Aspire 4 v-carve & So2 = skipping z-axis

The problem on my machine is the hard stops at the top of the z-axis move. There is no de-accel/accel going on during that short stroke. That's when the stutter happens in the stepper.

Re: Aspire 4 v-carve & So2 = skipping z-axis

Hi Wilt,

I'll give those adjustments a try. Thanks.

My control box has a fan with good airflow so we should be good there.

Thanks. I'll report back.

Aspire 4 v-carve & So2 = skipping z-axis

I'm trying out Aspire 4.5 with their "Grocery List Plaque" sample project. While cutting, the So2 z-axis is audible skipping during corner v-cuts and the z-height progressively rises until the bit is no longer cutting the material. These cuts are short, three-axis moves that define the corners of a ...

Re: GRBL Pendant

I'm using that USB keyboard with those same stickers for my setup. Works a charm.

Is there a port I should include in my URL to attach to the UCS web server?

Re: My First wooden Box and Inlay

Nice design. Are there any thoughts about how to solve the gap issues? Tighter CAD file tolerances? Tighter machine setup? Better machine? M LOL now that is a good question. I am still learning since this was my first. But I have been told to use a V bit. So next try will be trying that out. I just...

Re: Finally... 4th axis

Very nice custom axis. Any reason you chose this course rather than some Chinese offering on eBay? I invested in a hobby license of DeskProto because of its access to 4th and 5th axis at a price far below any other solution. Note that its calculation of tool paths is fine for non-precision, organic ...

Re: Tired of running in to sharp metal

A very nice, custom solution.

Is there a reason you didn't cut the tubes shorter?
