Re: Upgraded to win10, can't run now

If your computer can see the Arduino, but UGS cannot connect to GRBL, then it's not an Arduino driver issue. It's very likely a problem with GRBL. This might happen if you've recently flashed your Arduino with another program, which will remove GRBL, or if a recent re-installation of GRBL failed fo...

Just tried a few different baud rates, and no luck. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Upgraded to win10, can't run now

I recently upgraded my laptop from windows 8.1 to windows 10 and am having problems using my shapeoko 2 grbl controller. UGS and easel both say they can not connect to the device. I checked under device manager and the uno appears setup under com3 with 9600 baud. I went to arduino's site and got the...

Re: Tree Revenge Kit

You can sand, and that will eventually work. I find it smears and takes a while to get everything removed. I have been using a hand plane to remove the paint and have had really good results. Probably almost no one has one, so just go with rough sand paper, and make sure the paint is really well cur...

Tree Revenge Kit

I love engraving wood and filling it with color. In this case it was 3 different colors of spray paint. I made a somewhat comical emergency kit to hold tweezers in my shop. I started by milling out a lid from some thinned walnut I had lying around. http://i.imgur.com/puM7vzB.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com...

Engraved USB stick with bonus accident

I recently reformatted a media computer I use from windows 8 to Ubuntu. I really like the operating system for a variety of reasons. For example, it is free, and can be installed with a USB stick. I am going to keep a copy around, and figured it needs a proper home. Behold the custom Ubuntu USB stic...

Wooden Comb

I have a greatly growing goatee that is in need of grooming. Why buy a comb when I can CNC one? I started with re-sawed (thinned) walnut and maple. I do a lot of woodworking and have a band saw. If you don't, you can thin thicker pieces of wood with the mill. It will take a while, but is doable. The...

That's a really inexpensive straight bit, but for fuzz and chip out a spiral bit is nice. I guess I'm being too picky.

Those are good bits, I have some of them. I was looking for the bottom surface to be clean. Maybe I will try a straight flute next time.

Hardboard Spray Stencils

Someone else on the forum mentioned using metal flashing to create spray paint stencils. I liked the idea and was trying to cut out card stock with my swivel cutter attachment. Sadly, it isn't a very reliable method. Instead I changed course and went with hardboard (sometimes called masonite). It is...

WHAAAAAAATTT?!?!?!! that is perfect. I wish I had found those first. I searched for camera ring lights but didn't see anything that would work well for a good price. I must not have looked hard enough.
