Re: Shapeoko2 for Aluminum (Makita)

The collet for the makita only goes down to 1/4" so maybe buying a 1/8" depending on what bits you have and what you are going to do with it.

Re: Plunging too deep ( newbie )

There is no G90 (or even G91 but you need G90 for absolute) in your gcode, it doesn't explain why your board moves 10mm when asked to move 3mm but you know where you are when you specify the distance mode, add it in just above G17. I've looked through your gcode and it looks ok for Z movement: start...

Re: Calibration

The misalignment is always at the start and end of a line. On the h i l and other i these happen to line up vertically. So first thing to check is that your pulleys aren't slipping. Might need a flat made on the stepper shaft.

Re: Hello from Southern UK

Hi R-JH, i'm in Bristol with a 1m x 1m eShapeoko, any trouble with assembly just shout.

I have some leftover parts from building mine which i'd be happy to put in the post if you're short on bolts etc.

Re: Shapeoko as a manual machine??

wusta i'm currently writing a gcode sender to do the normal gcode and jog stuff but also manual coord input and programme recording to save out an nc file for later replaying. It's currently TinyG only but just a case of mapping interface to controller specific commands. Much to do but it'll be on g...

Re: Question about how to setup Shapeoko for repeating same

How about duplicating the file contents 10-20-30 times, copy paste copy paste and then pausing the cycle when you get to the end of each board (you could add a step at the end to move the carriage back and left to get it out the way). Then when you have jigged up the next board and secured it, hit r...

Search Google Play Store for TinyG Console. I've not got it working myself.

Re: Help to a newbie requested (Inkscape and Makercam)

but in my mind that doesn't really explain the first Y axis move in the air. The first move in the air is the machine going to the starting position (on the clearance plane Z10) that is fine and expected, it should be very near to where you zeroed your machine. Only drawing three sides is what Auzz...

Re: Can I make texts on aluminum with the Shapeoko CNC route

How about engraving the pattern for one colour and then anodise the whole thing, then engrave another colour and anodise the whole thing again, repeat for all colours, then skim the whole face just enough to leave bare metal and the anodised patterns.
