Re: 400 watt brushless spindle and controller

Has anyone here managed to get PWM to work on this driver? How well does it work for you? I'm thinking about buying this driver.

Re: Top Feedrates?

Those are recommended numbers based on relatively ideal circumstances. At least the paper tables & plastic slide calculators have caveats stating that those figures may need to be adjusted for the immediate task. You try to match the feed per tooth as well as you can to the recommendation, but you m...

Re: Limit Switch Mounting

I was looking for an upper switch mount, I couldn't find one that fit what I wanted, so I designed one. http://sproutform.com/physibles/106 SO2 Z Upper Limit Mount 1.jpg SO2 Z Upper Limit Mount 2.jpg The odd offsets and such allow me to place the switch so I don't needlessly constrain the machine's ...

Re: tgFX can't communicate with TinyG

OK, I don't know what my problem really was, but it all works now. I think it may have been a setting I accidentally made, but all the settings I know about checked out properly. I reset the board to factory default and the software & firmware behaves properly now. I tried to figure out what setting...

tgFX can't communicate with TinyG

I haven't been able to get tgFX to connect beyond the firmware check. If I hit "home axes" button before the firmware check fails out, the machine will home. So I know some level of connection is happening. I can connect to the board using CoolTerm just fine, change parameters, enter G code without ...

Re: Limit Switch Mounting

OK.

Thank you for the offer. I'll probably print my own and see how it goes.

The X and Y seemed to have good mounting examples, I just didn't see anything for Z axis.

Limit Switch Mounting

I'm getting closer to connecting a TinyG to a Shapeoko 2.

I've seen some examples for X & Y limit switch locations, but I haven't found anything for the Z limit. Can anyone post or point to posts showing some user's Z switch mounts?

Thank you.

Re: How to Update settings?

And I just hit another "gotcha". I entered all the parameters in mm, but the board was in inch mode. The Wiki page for setting up TinyG for ShapeOko didn't mention that little detail. I'm thinking, type $$, copy the output, switch to mm mode, and paste the settings. Hmm. I don't know what happened,...

Re: What tap for eShapeOko MakerSlide?

It might be possible to get a 'drill and forming tap' but I don't think I've ever seen one. I think the biggest issue is that you won't find cheap forming taps, unlike cutting taps. On the flip side if you are doing production runs on softer materials they are brilliant. Well, unless you have a mac...
