Re: SO2 - Wrapped Y Rotary and New Threaded Wasteboard Assem

At the moment I'm manually fixing the Y axis and swapping the connectors for the dual Y with the single rotary Y. Needless to say, it's not as efficient as I'd like but one of the axis on the BOB I'm using (Amazon Chinese Special) doesn't work so I'm making do while I wait for the replacement coming...

SO2 - Wrapped Y Rotary and New Threaded Wasteboard Assembled

So I finally had a chance to put together a new waste board that I had a friend of mine run on a larger CNC. It includes a cut out for a rotary axis for wrapped Y work and 1"x8TPI threaded holes for wooden threaded hold downs. I had some problems with my BOB and waiting on a replacement on the slow ...

Carl,

I'm in FM also. Didn't realize any SO2 owners were so close.

Re: General NEMA 23 / gShield question

That is much cleaner than what I was thinking of but looks like what I was thinking. I'll have to grab it and try it out. I'd much rather stay in the parameters of the NEMA 17s if possible.

General NEMA 23 / gShield question

After reading the gShield documentation on stepper motors and amperage draw, I would like some advice to see if I'm jumping down a rabbit hole with no end. If I'm using the standard power supply that came with the S2 (the brick/wart) and a gShield can I effectively drive a NEMA 23 and two NEMA 17s (...

Re: For better or worse

Works as expected. My controller had problem with the relay so I bypassed it and soldered directly to the board to get it to work. It turns the spindle and vac on and off with the G-Code at the beginning, end and tool changes for jobs.

For better or worse

After having some electrical difficulties building relays into a surge protector, I decided to go the commercial route and have one of these on order. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WV7GMA2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51UkBI6%2BtmL.jp...

Re: WTB: Custom Wooden Screw?

Are you set on the 1/2" or 3/4" sizes? I have a 1" x 8 TPI thread box and a tap that I could make the bolt lengths and a matching nut. It would just be a larger diameter than what you mentioned.
