Re: Improbable Construct S2 buildlog
I had some NEMA 23 non-captive stepper motors made. They are 2.1 amp, 106 oz/in with a TR10x2 thread pattern. I wanted them in a 3/8" ACME thread but for a small quantity they we not willing to make them for me. Bringing this thread back to life... hopefully. IC, I would like to implement a design ...

Re: Definitive list of stiffness/rigidity mods for SO2 / Xca
Is this the extra bracing you mentioned? https://shapeoko.com/forum/download/file.php?id=5909 Does that actually add stiffness to the V-wheels? It looks like you were trying to reproduce a version of what you did on the carriage (putting 2 wheels on one bolt) but I'm not sure this configuration has ...

Re: Definitive list of stiffness/rigidity mods for SO2 / Xca
also, what is the consensus on the stiffest wheel/bearing setup? I have read several times on this forum and others that the steel wheels are much stiffer but they also destroy the aluminum rail.

Re: Definitive list of stiffness/rigidity mods for SO2 / Xca
You want the dual X-axis beams to bee bolter together with no spacing between them. At all. Then you can add plates on top/bottom to further stiffen them. Replace the motor plates with 6mm Aluminium. The endplates on the Y-axis can also be replaced with something stronger. 9mm wide belts if you hav...

Definitive list of stiffness/rigidity mods for SO2 / Xcarve?
After a 2-year long break from using my SO2, I am getting back into it, and finding myself wanting to increase the stiffness to enable better aluminum milling. I've searched all over this forum and the wiki but it is difficult to gauge what are the most effective mods for the money because informati...

cutting coroplast
Anyone have experience cutting coroplast ? Sometimes (incorrectly) called "Chloroplast." Normally this is done with a drag knife or laser cutter but looks like it might be doable with a straight flute bit. Any suggestions or settings that worked for you would be much appreciated!

Re: making money from shapeoko
I've made some money off mine cutting G10 quadcopter frames for an ag company that my friend works for. Determining what to charge was the most difficult part. I am leaning towards a model where most of the cost is based on job setup and material cost, instead of actual run time. While I can't exact...

Re: Banggood...
Well, you did order right before the chinese new year... their festivals last for weeks and businesses shut down, then they have to work through the backlog that was created while they were out.
I avoid ordering anything from china this time of year.

Re: Under-Rail Lighting
where'd you get those fancy little blower nozzles? As Will said, it is a vacuum system I cooked up. The hose is call Loc-Line. You can twist and position it any way you want and it stays put. Great stuff! awesome, thanks! Just ordered some of the same. I can't use your under-rail lighting idea beca...
