Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Those look great. I am curious what you did on the bottom of the Z because I need to replace mine eventually, they are taking up too much space and losing me almost an inch of travel at the bottom. I would be interested in the STLs if you wouldn't mind posting them. I am wondering the same thing. I...

Re: Tabs on MakerCAM?

I will try again. I can see the tabs in MakerCAM, but they don't show up when I run the GCode on the OpenSCAM simulator.

Tabs on MakerCAM?

How do you add tabs to hold material in place on MakerCam. I calculated all CAM actions, selected the profile cut where I wanted tabs, and then added tabs to the selection. I can see the tabs in MakerCAM and I can move them around, but I can not make them show up in the exported GCode. I made a NOOB...

Re: Spindle Control

I am about to add a relay for spindle control to my Shapeoko, but now I am afraid of getting the relay you are using from Inventables. Did you ever get this working? It looks like the relay you have is a SainSmart 2-Channel Relay Module.

Re: How do you suspend your stepper and spindle cables?

I hated the bulky stepper motor cables that came from Inventables. They were too rigid and would get loose on the gShield if I moved my Shapeoko around. So I decided to mount the gShield right on the Shapeoko Y axis using the Inventables case. http://www.carloss.us/pictures/photo4.JPG I added a fan ...

Re: Stable GRBL 0.9g settings for full kit stock?

My Z axis did something similar when I first built my Shapeoko. To test, I would disconnect the Z and X motors and connect the Z axis motor to the X motor stepper on the gShield. Try to move the X axis and see how the Z motor responds. Doing this "reset" my Z motor and it started working fine after ...

Re: ShapeOko 2 Arduino Mount

I stole the original idea, but used a modified the gShield enclosure from Inventables. Wiring is now a lot cleaner and as soon as the screws come in, I will add a 24V fan. Here are some pictures: http://www.carloss.us/pictures/photo1.JPG http://www.carloss.us/pictures/photo2.JPG http://www.carloss.u...

Re: Stable GRBL 0.9g settings for full kit stock?

$2 is definitely wrong, as stated above. Just set it to 0. In my case, the default $3=6 had the x and z axes inverted, I had to change that to $3=5. I also found that some settings like $3 do not work right away, and I had to soft rest GRBL (CRTL-X) for them to become active. I use GRBL Controller a...

Re: DW600 factory end mill

Thanks. BTW, it looks like McMaster-Carr is not on the list and they have all kind of end mills and other goodies.

DW600 factory end mill

Is the factory end mill any good? What materials can you cut with it? I need to order a few end mills, but wanted to try this one while I wait.
