Re: Project Shapeoko HD

Louisv, You said that you expect the router to perform better than the router kids available from cncrouterparts.com. How do you expect it to be better? I have been looking at them for a while, especially their vcon linear rail system. Thanks! Hey talon, I don't recall saying the Shapeoko HD/HDX wo...

Re: What is the future of Shapeoko?

Thanks for the reply, My question isn't about the feasibility of those ideas (Or to suggest that all of those ideas should be integrated, many of them are at odds with each other). I guess my real question is what is the future of the design? I think Edward has a very clear idea of what his aims are...

What is the future of Shapeoko?

I'm just in the process of building my first Shapeoko 2, I don't doubt that in the future I'll make a larger version. But this got me thinking, what is the future of the Shapeoko project? For me, this comes down to 2 main areas of interest. 1- Who will lead future development? I assume the original ...

Re: Caleb's Shapeoko 2 #3164

Caleb, I've been doing some research on the motors that you used. I initially purchased the smaller NEMA 23 motors from Inventables. Their design amperage is 2.5 amps, the DRV8825 can only go up to 2.2 amps so I'm looking for some new motors (I'll either sell those motors, try to return them (they a...

Re: Nema 23s with DRV8825, need help with power supply.

I should note that I didn't purchase the power supply that is spec'd out in the kit. I thought I'd get more info first.

Nema 23s with DRV8825, need help with power supply.

I'm a bit confused about the required power supplies needed to run my stepper motors. I purchased the Nema 23 upgrade kit from inventables (140 oz/in motors). I'm planning on using Mach 3 with a C10 breakout board and DRV8825 drivers (I'm doing a build similar to Caleb's build here. http://www.shape...

Re: Caleb's Shapeoko 2 #3164

I love the post and the youtube videos. I plan on using your build log as a basis for my upcoming project. I'll be sure to post the progress on a new thread and I may have some questions for you in the future.

Keep up the good work!
