Air Deflector for Makita RT0700c Trim Router

I've designed an air deflector for the Makita trim router that can be 3D printed. Here's the link to the files on Thingiverse. You could also machine this on your CNC.

Re: Line Art to Create

Yep...that's pretty much the way to turn a bit map into vector line work. Inkscape is an amazing piece of software. I wish it had 3D capability. It took some time for me to find out how to grab line-art and get to Create so I could cnc projects. After watching You-Tube it became a simple as Mom's Ap...

Re: Carbide Create Question...

Cool. I've been playing around with Carbide Create and will give it a try on my next project. I like the VCarve aspect. Great! Carbide Create will allow arbitrarily large geometry and make toolpaths for anything reasonable --- the size settings for Job Setup only influence the size of stock for the ...

Carbide Create Question...

A bit of background... I currently use MakerCAM and my CNC machine is a DIY 2'X4' that uses GRBL and an Arduino Uno. Of course, MakerCAM is rather limited, but the upside is that it's simple to use. I'm not sure if it's being supported anymore. I downloaded Carbide Create but had some questions. Mak...

Re: Is there a Shapeoko 4 in the works?

I have 1/2" leadscrews in excess of 36" on my current machine with no problems. There is some whip at higher speeds, but not enough to cause any problem. I don't know what rapids you're expecting though. When I built my machine I did look at using belts and pulleys. But it was actually less expensiv...

Re: Is there a Shapeoko 4 in the works?

It would have to be a major rework to make me curious...like leadscrews and real linear bearings.

Re: Cheap Chinese Laser Question...

I have some good results. First I hooked up my Uno spare (Pin 11), running GRBL 1.1f, to my DVM. M3 S1000 gave me 5 volts, S500 2.5v, and S250 1.25v. I hooked up the laser to the Uno, Pin 11, after that and it seemed to work perfectly. S1000, S500, S250, etc with S0 turning it off. I'm assuming that...

Yes you are correct that the resolution will be greater/finer.

255 is the S setting in GRBL. It relates to the PWM output.

I think you are starting to understand how it all fits together!

Re: Cheap Chinese Laser Question...

Thank you for attempting to explain this!! When you say that I would have less control, are you saying I'd have less power? Half the power at 20Khz I'd have at 10Khz? Is the number 255 the same as setting s255 in GRBL1.1f? Or by control do you mean the higher the input frequency the greater the reso...
