I also ordered one of these collets from Elaire. Shipping was fast, and the product works excellent!

I don't have a way to measure runout, but I appear to be getting better results than with the stock spindle. I am much more comfortable with long machine runs using the Makita router.

Thanks for all the info, folks! I've just picked up the Makita and will go with Targus's mounts for now, and eventually the belt drive Z-axis.

Is anybody running a Makita 0701 with the z-axis belt drive kit yet? I'm considering this for my spindle configuration, and I'm wondering how much of the work area is lost to the larger router body. I realize the belt drive z-axis allows the router to be mounted closer to the Z axis maker slide, and...

He doesn't have the machine built yet, Will, he's just doing the testing of the motors up front. I had the same thing happen, and my machine seems to work fine.
