Re: First job, Inlay on a cutting board

I used 1/8" bit and the the notch is exactly the size of the bit. It would be following the path of the wall and then make a quick move in and back on path. I just did another one last night, and unfortunately I did not take the advice of looking through the code (not that I would know what to look ...

Re: First job, Inlay on a cutting board

Yes, it is purple heart on maple and walnut. I am going to look into the g code program. The odd thing was it was not an entry point. It started the cut in the center where it should have but cut a small notch there on each pass. I'm cutting another tonight so I will definitely do a test run this ti...

First job, Inlay on a cutting board

This was my first job with the Shapeoko 2, also my first job with a CNC at all. A Christmas present for my mother in law. I did my glue up on the board first obviously, but I was so excited to get to the inlay part that I didn't plane the board before I did the routing on the initial. I was terrifie...

1000X1000 upgrade? What is the actual cutting area?

As the topic states, what is the actual usable cutting area of the 1000mm upgrade kit? I am looking at the kit for large picture frames but I want to know exactly the limits of the machine. Also, for future reference, what are the drawbacks to this particular upgrade? Anything I should know going in...

Where to find DW660 mounting bracket

The inventables' store is sold out. Is there anywhere else that I can get these mounts? I am looking to upgrade soon. Also, do I need to upgrade the belts along with it?

Re: EASEL problem

Just wondering if you ever found a solution to this issue. I am having the same problem. I have installed and re-installed Easel Local four times and still am unable to run it. I am using a laptop with 8.1.

Re: Can't get my project to group together

I just tried to highlight and select each path then click "join". It actually puts them in Makercam as one piece but it still does not allow profile path?

Can't get my project to group together

I am about to run my first job on the shapeoko 2. I have figured out how to make my designs in illustrator. I used the picture below and used the pen tool to create my pattern in SVG format. To create consistency and uniformity for all sides of the frame I just did one quarter and copied and mirrore...

Re: can't get UGS to load

Yes, am using a laptop. Windows 8.1 (sigh) :? . I tried having the shapeoko 2 up and running and then ran UGS. Same results, I read somewhere that you can reinstall the drivers for the arduino, is that an option?
