Re: State Outline Cut in Veneer

Ooh, and your frame is shaped like Colorado!

Or is that Wyoming?

Re: Dead arduino

It has been a while since I have caught up the forum, but you mignt want to take a look at my own little adventure in Arduino communication:

Re: Trashed X adjustment pot

Just an update on this: Someone on the Synthetos board did provide the part number to me, but in a rare flash of sanity, I decided to measure the behavior of the trimpot before starting to melt solder. I found, rather to my surprise, that even though it spins freely around and FEELS broken, I can me...

A little off topic

Doing ``carving'' w/ a rotary tool denies one access to, and interaction w/ the grain of the wood and its figure --- you owe it to yourself to try doing it by hand at least once. Wood carving is one of my other hobbies. Although many carvers use rotary tools (usually high-speed tools like the Fored...

Trashed X adjustment pot

Please forgive me if this topic has already been discussed. I was tweaking the adjustment pots on my grblshield (v3), and now the X axis pot just spins uselessly and the X axis has ceased to function. Yes, I broke it. Has anyone successfully replaced these ridiculously tiny and delicate potentiomete...

I'd like to apologize for not following up on this thread. I watched for a couple of weeks, didn't see anything, and then work blew up on me, and I didn't come back to monitoring this forum until a few days ago, and I'm still weeks behind. If I had taken a little time to check a few days before the ...

NoCo Mini Maker Faire

From one or two comments I've seen, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only ShapeOko owner in Colorado, and probably not the only one likely to visit the NoCo Mini Maker Faire in Loveland on October 5th (makerfairenoc.com). Is there any interest in getting together for a bit before or after? Or, perhaps ev...

Re: Ennoble's Build log

Ennoble, can we get more details about that braided cover on your cables?

I'm quickly coming to a place where heat-shrink at each end and in the middle of each bundle is just too ugly to stomach ...

Re: Look familiar? OSCNC

Honestly, this looks different enough to call it "different," from my limited perspective. The belts are loops, the Y drive seems to be completely different, they are using OpenRail instead of MakerSlide ...

Re: To Paint or not to paint

If you do decide to paint your plates, take the time to sand and prime them. I didn't, and my pretty copper paint is all flakey-offey. I have the sad face: :-(
