Re: Alternative to MDF?

Try Starboard, it works just like plywood on the saw, router and other woodworking tools so imagine it will machine well.

Makes a lot of little white chips though but thats better than a cloud of MDF dust.

Carbide Motion Zero All

Noob question I'm afraid, so when I Zero All, the values don't always all set to 0.0, I get (seemingly) random values of 0.02 or -0.02, always that number but randomly +'ve or -'ve in any axis

Is that normal behavior ?

thanks

Re: El Capitan Export ?

Yep, that works as well.

Just thought that the maintainers (assuming this is where they live) might like to know about a potential bug.

Re: Official SO3 Hello World

Hmm, no, the belts are all guitar string tight, I think it might be shaky table & bad sharpie attachment (maybe)

I'll move to a different setup where she's a bit more pinned down and try again.

thanks

Re: Official SO3 Hello World

Hi,

First Hello World print, bit wonky, could this all be due to the Sharpie and/or table shake ? Probably not right ?

Appreciate the input

Page 14 has an error, the top RH diagram is correct for the spacer being 3/8 x 5/16 but the main body text identifies the spacer as 5/8
