Re: Do background tasks glitch toolpaths?
I am using a raspberry pi with UCS, when I am running a large gcode file it tends to hang every now and then even if I am not doing any activity, but never had an issue with the workpiece being ruined, it just stops working until the PI can push more gcode. It also happens sometimes when I am browsi...

Re: Possible Spindle Upgrade - 600W or More
I'll be curious to hear...please also let us know what power supply and speed control you used. I purchased the item on this link, which comes with a power supply. I've tried it today and after connecting all the wires and turning it on, it didnt run at all. It turned out that the problem was that ...

Re: Possible Spindle Upgrade - 600W or More
I am a regular dw660 user and happy with it, but I decided to try the 600w spindle. I've just received it today so I'll try it over the weekend and tell you how much of a difference was it

.6 KW chinese spindle
I've been using the dw660 for a while now and I am very happy with it, but I'm not able to run the machine at night due to the very loud noise it generates especially when using .25 inch bits. I am going to switch to a chinese spindle as I've read that they are much more quiet. I wanted to know from...

Plasma on a Shapeoko, feasible?
Hi, I saw this post about using a plasma cutter with a Shapeoko but was wondering if it has been done by anyone and still operational with no issues? I saw this youtube vid showing one which uses a plasma cutter but nothing else, it doesnt seem to be a popular option. I think the belts wont go well ...

Re: Running universal gcodesender on a Raspberry Pi
I had to use the latest nightly build to get it to work, but the visualization doesnt work, does it work for you? I think I'll build it locally and see what happens.

Re: Running universal gcodesender on a Raspberry Pi
@rodcar125 , thanks for the info, will definitely try it when I am back from work. I understand that you are running "chilipeppr", do you recommend it? why did you choose it? I've tried alternatives after my failed attempt to run universal gcodesender before but non worked for me. I've tried using "...

Running universal gcodesender on a Raspberry Pi
So I've been using my pi to run the shapeoko 2 for a while now, the only gcode sender that I could run on it is the "Grbl controller". I've been using the "universal gcode sender" before and I really liked it since you could manually enter the movement amount when moving the spindle and it had a "pa...
