Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Switched to GRBL 0.8c y nada.
Reupdated to 0.9j, read tips again, carefully, decided to check "just in case" and saw that I had x and y inverted.
Switched wiring. BINGO!
Now I can clean up this mess and finish the wiring! Thank you.

Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Thanks. I checked the wiring and it looks pretty clean- x on 9, y on 10, z on 11 (with PWM disabled).
I could not find anything relevant to setting one axis's switch to respond for another axis either.
FACK :-)

Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Resoldered z header and better. Now I can home z and x but not "y" (i changed config.h in grbl to do one axis at a time). At first I thought it was interference because I was wiring the y limit switches through the x axis support (wedged in between with the y axis stepper motor), so I brought the y ...

Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Thank you cvoinescu. Will test this eve- I'm hoping it's not damage due to trying it with the Z switch on pin 11 while grbl was compiled for "variable spindle/PWM ENABLED."

Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Sorry for the quick posting- only have limited time in the evenings to check these through: Basically- limit switches on X and Y seem to work. X limit switch voltage: 4.95V, Y voltage, 4.95V, Z voltage:4.99V Is that difference enough to make it inoperable? When ever x or y switches are pressed: ----...

Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Now I recompiled grbl (0.9j) because of the inverted pins (11 and 12), commenting VARIABLE_SPINDLE in config.h // Enables variable spindle output voltage for different RPM values. On the Arduino Uno, the spindle // enable pin will output 5V for maximum RPM with 256 intermediate levels and 0V when di...

Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

Several people have tried just capacitors, without any resistors, and it has been sufficient for most of them. A few people went with much larger capacitors than normally used for this (4.7 uF electrolytic, instead of the more typical 100 nF ceramic) and reported good results too (although my opini...

Re: Limit Switch Wiring?

So from what I understand I need the three capacitors between 9, 10, 11 and GND. Then i go from GRND to the switches and back to pin 9, 10, and 11. I am first going to try this configuration without extra resistors- has anyone else tried with just the three caps, without adding extra resistors? Resu...

Me too! Will try the trial first though.
