Thanks for posting this thread and for keeping it updated. I am also going with a 1.5kw spindle like you did but have elected to use a water cooled unit. I was wondering if you would post a few detail photos of your mount. I'm using a acme thread screw, but there are a couple spots I'm concerned wit...

Re: Help! My ShapeOKO is just sitting there and won't move
Working or not, that's a beautiful electronics build stargeezer. Thanks friend. It looked a lot better before I cut all the wire loom apart to trace everything. :) Oh well.... :):) I hope to get things back in shape this weekend, but I might wait until I get the bugs all worked out. The last thing ...

Re: Help! My ShapeOKO is just sitting there and won't move
After my last post I went back to the shop and started looking for the problem. I discovered that the motor tuning screen held many wrong values compared to what was listed in the manual and the breakout board instructions. After correcting these and resetting the computer I'm happy to report that t...

http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a579/Larry_Kruzan/20150227_121744_zpsp34oyckw.jpg Hope that works. Trying to get a copy of the breakout board manual. I have the copy I printed, but can't find the cd right now. All wiring has been checked and double checked. As you can see from the pic, all the ...

Help! My ShapeOKO is just sitting there and won't move
Hello, I recently completed a Shapeoko build that I built up to the 1 meter size and have spent a few days trying to get Mach 3 to move the steppers. So far I have - checked my wiring, at least three times from power supplies to spinal. I've reloaded the Mach 3 software twice and used the configurat...

Re: Steppers/Axis jerky when moved by hand - willing to list
Got that, but in my limited experience it's been a constant amount of resistance. This is a sharp lock of the stepper after moving a couple inches which releases in just a moment. I suppose it could be due to my moving the gantry at a high enough rate to generate a bigger field than I'm used to seei...

Steppers/Axis jerky when moved by hand - willing to listen
Hi Folks. I'd sure like to make my first post not be a problem, but life is not always like that, is it? I'm building my first CNC router but have built a number of printers. With all of my printers I could move the axis by hand and they always moved with no resistance. With this router I can ...

Re: How BIG do I need to build my Shapeoko?
Thanks! I'm prepping the table this weekend and delivery of my Shapeoko is supposed to be next week. The table will be all steel, welded for rigidity. I plan to sandwich a piece of steel between the rails that make up the slide and hope that helps make things stiff along with a number of tabs to bol...

How BIG do I need to build my Shapeoko?
Hi all! I'm beginning to plan the table my new Shapeoko will be built on and since I want to be able to work a carving that measures 24"x48", what is the minimum size I should plan to build my new CNC table/cart?
