I think the red light is the board communicating with the the computer. I also have a blue light the constantly on when there is power attached.

Edward my dip switch setting are the same as the picture you posted. What are the dimensions that the Hello world should be drawn at? I took a rough mesuments and mine is 9 3/16 x 1 7/8

Just got my new board in and did a few hello worlds.
