Re: DEWALT DWP611 VS MAKITA RT0700CX

Still waiting to test it.... wont be too far away though. I purchased from bunnings but mitre 10 seems to have slightly better pricing(i found this out after) Ah fair enough, I had a walk through my local bunnings and they didn't have any trimmer routers, but it's a 'small' bunnings with a pretty p...

Where in aus can you buy these? I'm struggling to find an online tool store in aus that stocks decent 'trimmer' routers like the makita.

Re: Arduino Mega 2560 & RAMPS

The other option is to run printer firmware on the mega instead.... apparently it works pretty well, here's a post from Bart Dring, the creator of makerslide and the ORD Bot (the machine in the video at the end) http://www.buildlog.net/blog/2012/08/hacking-your-cnc-toolchain/ I'm going down this rou...

Re: GRBL on arduino pro mini?

I just got done running some basic tests with GRBL on my Nano and no problems. I spun a motor, verified the spindle relay pin went on/off with a multimeter, and made some param changes and verified they stayed after a power cycle. All good. I didn't know about the Nokia cable trick; very cool info....

That's really useful advice; I was struggling with keeping my shapeoko square today and was about to ask the forum for advice but I think this is the answer, thanks :)

Re: GRBL on arduino pro mini?

The Nano should not be a problem; as you say it's using the same chip (ATMega328) as the Uno. I have a Nano, if you want I can try installing GRBL on it this weekend. The Pro Mini doesn't have a serial chip so yes you could install GRBL on it, but you won't have any way to send G code to it. If you...

GRBL on arduino pro mini?

Hi guys, Can you use an arduino pro mini or nano (328/16MHz) with grbl? The synthetos page says no (but i think they were referring to the pins not suiting the shield) and the grbl github page only mentions Unos so I'm not sure. As far as I understand they are completely the same thing as an arduino...
