Re: Carbide motion vs touch plates (SO3)

I have tried Grbl-Panel, and the workflow of homing, setting Z offsetting works just fine.

Too bad it does not work with carbide motion...

Re: Who has Upgraded their Z Axis?

Something like this has a chance to be released soon as an upgrade. http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7096&start=10#p55834 Ed was looking into that all the way past September, and I was lucky to get onto beta testing that plate. Can't tell for sure what is going to be the latest iter...

Re: Carbide motion vs touch plates (SO3)

When I want to home, I use bCNC. If I want to make a cut using Carbide Motion, I’ll home in bCNC, move to the desired zero, power down the machine, then switch to CM. OK then. What reason would Carbide have to stop us from working with a homing apparatus, when there is clearly a header on their boa...

Carbide motion vs touch plates (SO3)

I installed my limit switches, and when I issue a $H, it homes just fine to the far right corner and debounces 5mm as per the configuration. I also installed a touch plate, and when I issue a G38.2 Z-75 F2.5, the probing cycle does its job and finds my touch plate. I know my touch plate is 20 mm hig...

Re: Carbide 3D beginning to sell replacement parts

Its very nice to see they upgrade their motherboard to handle the disconnect problem. Where I have a problem with it, is that, they could fill in the 6 pins on their board that would be used to enhance the machine, like plugging in a laser head or whatever. Not everyone is capable/willing to solder ...

Another quick one.

This is what I used for drawing, and will used for cutting vinyl.

Re: Build 00947 (Metal Bed & Upgrades)

Long time no post, but its near completion. I simply need to finish the leveling and affix the RPM sensor to my rooter so it can be driven by my super pid. During my hours of play time with the Shapeoko, not cutting anything, I found the motor to be too hot to my taste. So I went ahead and created f...

I guess you are further down the road from me, cause I think a lathe would be sweet to add to my arsenal too :P It arrived today: DSCN0159-cropped.jpg DSCN0163-cropped.jpg It's one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361243758156 Downloaded tonnes of lathe training video's, and Youtube has a lot as...

Re: Shapeoko 3 9mm belt upgrade BOM?

I've done it on mine. Check in this thread: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7096 You are goind to need 3x 9mm pulleys because you will not find a 9mm closed pulley to do the Z axis with. It is important you check the height of the pully, if not, you are going to need to be inventiv...
