I know that this thread is old, but looking for "grayscale to gcode" turns up very few hits on the forum. Did this project ever get completed? I'm looking at converting images to carving files without spending 1000+ USD for a program.
Thanks,
Doxie

Re: Getting started with ChiliPeppr
Update:
Using chilipeppr on a raspberry pi with a jog dial and touch plate. I'm in heaven. Only thing is that I can't use the 3d viewer on raspi as the viewer uses a lot of hardware acceleration, which the raspi isn't good at. So I'm running headless and accessing the viewer with a laptop.

Re: 3D CAM Tool Poll
Autodesk Fusion 360 is pretty powerful. It's geared for big milling machines, but you can use it for the workflow to gcode.

Re: Limit, E-stop,and other connectors on CM board
Hello.
Has anyone answered the question if there is a second button needed to resume from a feed hold? I'll probe around tomorrow, but I'm just getting started with my machine.
Thanks,
Doxie

Re: Dewalt 611 - Super PID connection with SO3
Hey all. I'm really curious about this, as I'm considering getting one as well. But I really want to be able to control the router speed via gcode. Any feedback from early adopters?
Thanks,
Doxie

Re: Getting started with ChiliPeppr
Oh, I'd totally be stoked if this works with Raspi. I use OctoPrint on my 3d printer, and love how I can control and monitor the machine with any of my computers. Can I do this? While running the raspi headless? I'll poke into it tonight, but I was wondering if anyone has done this already. Thanks, ...

Re: Completed My 3D Printed PLA SO3 Drag Chain Brackets
Fusion 360 is so much easier to learn than FreeCAD. I modified the forms, printed, and now I have spiffy drag chains on my lil robot! Thanks for your help, everyone.

Thanks! I had to figure out the entire sketch thing and now it is all good. I'm printing the parts out as I write. We live in a strange world.

Re: Completed My 3D Printed PLA SO3 Drag Chain Brackets
Sweet!
I think the most preferential format will be a STEP file. At least, I loaded a sample of that into freeCAD and it is editable. The formats that are common between the programs are as follows:
STEP
IGES
DXS
VRML
Thanks again,
Doxie
