Already did some upgrades to the LAYZOR. I installed a Cohesion3D board (+ Lightburn) and air assist!
Extremely happy with them!

an e-stop should be hardwired. Imagine your wireless connection acting up when things go wrong. It's PET so it doesn't catch on fire, it just melts. It's also supposed to be safe. Vinyl and PVC for instance wouldn't be

I am using it now.
The software is basic but much more user friendly than the stock crapware.
I hate it needs inkscape though. Another piece of software to learn...

A shapeoko isn't really stiff enough to handle steel. It's been done, but not a lot. That's why you won't find any info. I'd say start VERY conservatively and work your way up if needed. If this is something you want to do on a regular basis, you'd probably be better off looking into better options.
