Re: Shapeoko limit switch kit? I hope they do better ....

I'm on a quest to ask basic questions today... sorry. #5 Home the Machine. What does this mean? How it done? Is this a bCNC function? or a Shapeoko 3 function or both? if bCNC... how? #7. Set WCS by finding center of material or using 0,0 bottom left corner jig. This allows me to change bits during ...

Limit Switch Basics

Hi All... Happy New Year, I've read numerous threads that talk about limit switches, wiring, settings... and so on. How about this basic question... How are limit switches suppose to function? And... once I know what a properly functioning limit switch is suppose to do, what is the best way to test ...

I've just fix it and should work now. Could you download the latest master and test it.

Will do... when I get home tonight. Thanks for the update.

Re: bCNC + Shapeoko 3 + Mac Winbook... any success

Yes the speed is set correctly. The 'port' drop down is not showing that any ports have been discovered. And everything I've tried to type in here has failed. This is a wee bit frustrating. Can anyone tell me if they have successfully done this from a MacBook? If not, I'll stop trying. Thanks, Ed

Re: bCNC + Shapeoko 3 + Mac Winbook... any success

Not sure, I'll have to check when I get home.

I thought I read that the Mac version was suppose to auto-detect. That didn't happen.

Any Idea what 'serial' port should appear in the pull down box?

Thx

bCNC + Shapeoko 3 + Mac Winbook... any success

Hi All, I really like the 'potential' of bCNC but I cannot get connected. All the trouble documented here and elsewhere seems to be with PC installations and the MAC should auto detect. Well this newbe has just wasted 2 hours and bCNC and my Shapeoko 3 remain strangers that have never met. If anyone...

Re: Fusion 360 added support for engraving

Thank you for this amazing reply. But setting the origin point is the easy part. It's getting the coordinate system to line up with the machine that I have problems with. I guess I need to just go back and play with it some more... but to me, it was not intuitive.

Re: Fusion 360 added support for engraving

I would love to start using Fusion 360. I love the CAD side... very powerful. I even get the CAM side... with one big BUT. I cannot get my head around the coordinate system. I just want it to set up with the origin on the top of the board, lower left corner of the stock... with Z- down, X+ to the ri...

Re: Carbide Create - First Use

I just got my Shapeoko 3 running on Saturday and for my first "Hello World" test I decided to make a sign for my son's door. I had a piece of 3/4" plywood sitting around. I opened up Carbide Create and within 5 minutes and I had the piece set up, the tool selected, the sign created and the GCode ex...

Re: Shapeoko 3 gcode from Fusion 360

Thanks to All, You guys are the best. I've been away from this for a while... day job and family interference. I'm downloading ugc sender now and will give that a try. Question... does ugc sender allow you to 'return to zero point' on command. the Carbide tool does not seem to have that option. Whic...
