Re: X-Carve Videos On Youtube - Same for Shapeoko 3?
I know I would find it useful JeromyReno. It's all of those settings that I don't know about that confuse me. The terminology itself is all new to me so explaining what those terms all mean would be really helpful. Will - thanks for the links, some of which I've seen before. I just enjoy watching a ...

Re: Good ShapeOko 3 videos?
I really like the 3 part series on making a gear coaster by Caleb Peters. https://youtu.be/-CHJJRMeAGU It's done with a Shapeoko 2 but part 1 is about using Inkscape and part 2 is about makercam. Following his very instructional videos, I was able to create my own first cuts with my Shapeoko 3. It w...

Thanks for the heads up on that book Markspens. I just clicked the buy button. I grew up in the country and I can pick out an Oak tree and a few others but I couldn't pick out one board from another. This looks like a good read.

Re: X-Carve Videos On Youtube - Same for Shapeoko 3?
@JeromyReno I think a first project video would be awesome. I'm new to CNC and I've gotten far enough to do several projects now. But, I really struggled with learning a CAD program (I used inkscape) a CAM program (I used makerCam) and then a gcode program (I used CarbideMotion). If there was a yout...

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Assembly Instructions (preliminary)
I finally got to page 31. After I checked the dip switches, I went to screw the controller to the gantry. This is the point where I realized there were no screw holes to mount the board. Alright, I screwed up. I put the extrusion with the 2 screw holes onto the right side of the base. So, two things...

Re: Shapeoko 3 - Assembly Instructions (preliminary)
The pic on 28 again shows washers and both pages 28 and 29 reference Nylock nuts. I expect to replace my regular nuts with Nylock in the near future but, again, my kit came with regular nuts. I'm not complaining here, just pointing out any assembly anomalies I am seeing.
