Re: Is this thing even a Shapeoko anymore?

Impressive, indeed.

Is the dxf for these motor plates available somewhere? Information is a bit scattered..

Thanks!

Re: Squaring and V-Wheels

Even when the spacer is all the way loose, if I turn the V-Wheel on it, the carriage will move, in other words, it doesn't freewheel. I had the same issue confusing me for a long time. There was nothing wrong with the wheels or plates. In my case it was the paint job ghost. I had to drill out the p...

Re: My end plates seem pretty out of whack ...

Hi again, I just wanted to close this thread for my part. Apparently the error shown is within tolerance for the extruder, however not for the current Shapeoko design. For my part, and I assume anyone else with the same problem, Inventables will ship a new set of Makerslide pieces. I also understand...

Re: My end plates seem pretty out of whack ...

Hi again, Thanks for your quick replies to both of my issues! Since I came out of lurk mode on the forum only when I found some issues with my build I'd like to be clear that Inventables exceeded my expectations in most ways. Everything is nicely presented, and has been counted and packaged by a nea...

Re: Problem with tightening bearings [625z, inventables kit]

Hi Zach, Thanks for your quick reply on both of my issues. I'll answer in the other thread as well, for the sake of archiving ;) Regarding the bearings, I think there is good news. I tested all 40 bearings using an M5x10 bolt with two washers and a hex nut. Most of them worked as they should, only 7...

Re: My end plates seem pretty out of whack ...

I'm afraid I'll bump this thread again. I have the same problem, and I would say the Makerslide is not extruded to specification with 20mm between holes. I have some Makerslide (also from Inventables) from another batch and I can compare. I measured at the untapped end of the Z-axis. Within my preci...

Re: Problem with tightening bearings [625z, inventables kit]

@DanMc
That's true. I have tried them the both ways in the assembly, I just wasn't very careful in the photo arrangement :) Unfortunately the difference needed seem to be more than that. Even the precision washer in between bearings seem to clamp the bearing.

Problem with tightening bearings [625z, inventables kit]

Hi all, I finally got around to assembling the mechanical kit from Inventables (yay vacation). I quickly ran into the following problem which I have not found documented yet. When I tighten the bolts around wheel assemblies (or just the bearings, to be specific) they effectively lock down the bearin...
