Re: Help with Shapeoko3 and Lightburn software!
I don't use Lightburn, but I checked their support documentation. It looks like using Lightburn requires you to change the Shapeoko's origin position. When you are done, you need to revert that change to use your Shapeoko as a CNC machine again. Check out the support page: https://github.com/LightBu...

Re: Need help with inlays
Since you have VCarve Desktop, have you looked at any of the Vectric online tutorials? This one is old, but might still be relevant: D07 - VCarve Inlay Technique This one is on the auto inlay feature: Auto Inlay Toolpath Guide There is also a write-up on the Carbide3D website: vCarve Inlays with… vC...

Re: Newbie workflow help on curved stock
Vectric has a lot of good tutorials available on their website (and YouTube). I am pretty sure I saw one concerning carving letters/words on a curved surface. Maybe one of those tutorials would mention/show how they have the curved surface modeled in their software? If not, you can probably get some...

Re: Can anyone explain spring-loaded tools for contours?
Hi John, As best as I can tell, the engraving tool is inserted into this adapter, and the adapter is inserted into your router. Since the adapter is spring-loaded, when you start the CNC cycle and lower your bit, the engraving tool will be pushed up into the adapter. Based on the spring's stiffness,...

Re: Touch Probe
I don't have the probe myself, but I have been reading a lot of posts, so I hope this is helpful/accurate. As the probe is manufactured on an industrial CNC, it has known proportions/sizes in each axis (not sure the tolerance, but fairly certain it will be more accurate than the Shapeoko). For Z, le...

Re: Noob needing help with grbl cpu mapping
I don't have any knowledge regarding lasers, and I have never programmed an arduino, but I do have general programming knowledge. In the program code you gave, the semantics are important. SPINDLE_ENABLE_ BIT does not refer to a pin, but a bit. The comments say that bit 3 relates to pin 11, bit 4 to...

Re: Buying cutters
You didn't say where you live, or what you are looking for. If you live in the US: You can always buy direct from Carbide3D. If you are just experimenting and expect to break a lot of bits, I started with buying sets from China off of eBay. If you are looking for great prices on good quality bits, I...
