Re: S3 stops mid-job
I ran a 3 hour job for the first time yesterday, and I took the Olimex USB isolator out of the equation, so it appears adding 9mm ferrite cores over the X, Y, Z stepper cables and one on each end of the spindle cable and also grounding my X, Y, Z carriages, and the outside of the spindle casing seem...

Re: S3 stops mid-job
Just to add something, I added a Olimex USB isolator to my machine, and almost instantly I was getting disconnects of the TinyG to my laptop and messages on my computer saying 'USB device not recognized' and 'looking for drivers' (even though it says in the olimex instructions it doesnt need drivers...

Re: Oak Center Cap Prototype
Hi Tony, yes true the more the machine can do the better! I will post a project I'm working on soon to the members area, but I'm still painting it! It's taking way longer to paint than to cut it! Should be done by the weekend. It's just a simple 2d cut/engrave post box as a test project to iron out ...

Re: Oak Center Cap Prototype
Oh cool thanks for the info. I think it looks really good as it is. I suppose you could sand the cusps quite easily, but the milling pattern looks cool too. I've not used meshcam but sounds good. I use delcam feature cam, which is really easy to use. It has a wizard which takes you through step by s...

Re: Oak Center Cap Prototype
Hi Tony B, lovely bit of 3D milling. Just wondering did you use a parallel cut, or some other type of cut to get that nice radius?

Re: S3 stops mid-job
Just wondering KAScnc, reading through your posts, did you try the USB isolator?

Re: S3 stops mid-job
Good suggestions guys. I've ordered an 'earth plug' and will ground the Y axis and X axis to it as jfdotcom did. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESD-Antistatic-Earth-Bonding-Plug-Point-1-x-M5-Post-2-x-10mm-Studs-UK-Plug-EPA-/331022389427?hash=item4d1278d0b3:g:14sAAOSw1ZBUs6UW) I've also ordered a USB iso...

Re: S3 stops mid-job
Just an observation, I have an SO2 and recently changed to tinyg from the cncshield/arduino/pololu driver setup.
I never had any mid-job stopping with the CNC shield setup (I had other issues though!), but get it quite frequently with TinyG.
Does anyone know why this would be?

Re: tiny g randomly stopping
Hi Janis,
Did you solve this issue in the end. I'm having something similar, except I use UGS and don't rely on the internet like with chillipeppr, and use windows not mac.

Re: TinyG UGS Power Supply Stepper Motor Strange Phenomenon
Yes think your right, either way resetting the power to TinyG probably fixed it.
No issues running something last night.
