Re: shapeoko losing calibration ?

I think i've sorted this out. I believe I've been adjusting the steps/mm the wrong way....I was increasing the steps/mm when it was moving too far.....I think I had a bad set of grblcode from inkscape/makercam that made me think increaseing the steps/mm made it move less....when it seems clear the o...

shapeoko losing calibration ?

Hi all. I recently started cutting pieces where precision mattered and discovered I had to adjust the steps per mm for x and y axis. I cut a 50mm square and it came out 53mm....ok no problem adjusted the steps per mm.....recut it came out 50mm. My issue is a few days later I ran a job and its cuttin...

makercam.com pocket operation leaves a couple of spots

Can anyone explain why makercam.com is missing a couple of spots on the generated cut path ? (see attached image).

Thx

Andy

makercam displaces circles ?

Has anyone else since this behaviour ? I draw a few rectangles and circles in Inkscape and save the file. Open file in makercam.com and all the rectangles are in the right place, but all the circles have been moved down the y axis some way. I even created a file in inkscape with just a single circle...

Re: Problems after a couple of passes.

Will, you are awsome, the tip about overheating did the trick. I stuck a big box fan blowing down on the Arduino/Shield and ran the gcode that's been giving me fits....ran fine. Here's a pic of the results. Many thanks, Andy. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-z3JpofeZunU/U7jblkkXPDI/AAAAAAAAA2g/ZNF...

Problems after a couple of passes.

hi all. I noted on a previous thread that my Shapeoko 1 z axis rod has a slight bend in the middle. Am I wasting my time trying to debug cutting issues with the rod in this state ? The z axis is fairly smooth as long as I keep the z assembly down so the delerin nut stays between the mid point of the...

My threaded rod is bent

Ok..i couldn't resist that subject line....but seriously. I ordered my Shapeoko over 2 years ago.. I just got around to putting it together. It works...but the z-axis is very rough....the end of the thread rod precesses/wobbles pretty badly. I took it back apart and took a closer look at the threade...
