Re: Vectric Aspire vs. Vcarve Pro

Aspire includes all the features of Vcarve pro. Aspire includes many more functions, that's why Aspire costs 3 X more. The Vectric website has comparison tables for all its products.

Re: How to maximize clean cut

As Will stated trying a downcut bit may help. When doing fine work there is a noticeable difference in cut quality depending upon the bit manufacturer. I noticed a difference in cutting hardwoods immediately. Try Amana or Onsurd. They have a big selection of CNC bits just for that material and great...

Re: Finishing Techniques

From my experience atonwa has it right. Depending on the desired results, Sealing, a couple of finish coats, then cutting the vcarve, followed by staining the v carved letters, and then promptly wiping the stain off the finished areas works great. As atonwa pointed out, you can get lots of variation...

Re: Feed and speed starting point ?

I cut a lot of .25" -.75" oak, cherry, maple, and poplar. I use .250 2 flute bits flat and ball nose, and .125 ball nose. Insert V bits from Amana (Toolstoday) and a precisebits collets and nuts. I use mostly upcut, though downcut is nice on some woods to minimize fuzzies. I use Vectric software. I ...

Re: GRBL Error ID:33

Thanks for the information. I loaded the path with UGS and it all worked. I was just cutting a pocket, there was just one curve, but who knows. I have resisted using UGS because when I was first evaluating it, it had some strange issues. It would home fine, but when I tried to return to the origin i...

GRBL Error ID:33

Is there a list for GRBL error codes? I have been using the same post successfully for weeks without any issues. Suddenly I get "GRBL Error: gcode ID:33" a few seconds into the job. I will look at the gcode and try changing the toolpath to see if my cam program can generate a new error free path. Fi...
