I always just mill a pocket in the locations i need thickness reduced. Shouldnt be a problem as long as you have enough reach with your cutters

I have been looking at adding something like this and maybe driving it with an airbrush compressor or regular compressor? I've been tossing around this idea for some time as an air assist for the laser attachment. I actually have one of those but havent tried it yet because of my laziness. Ill repo...

I found that at least some of those cheap chinese endmills advertised as carbide are probably not carbide. I cant mill 6061 aluminun with them without chipweld. I have no problem however with quality carbide end mills. Even high end bits with high polish mirror finishes can encounter chip weld...so...

Haven't worked w/ it, but curious as to where you're getting this --- one supplier I know of had their factory burn down and chose not to rebuild, so supplies for this sort of stuff, esp. in larger sizes, is limited. Just ordered a machine what are some good bits to start out with. I plan on doing wood work, small signs. Mostly 5"x8", so very detailed work.
