Re: Shapeoko Extended Footprint

It is two sheets of 5/8in MDF sandwiched together and the blue rails are Rockler T Track that was sunk and bolted through the two sheets of MDF. The machine then not only bolts to those rails but they also allow me to pop in clamps and whatnot for material holding. I mainly do prop making so precisi...

Re: Shapeoko Extended Footprint

My solution for mid span brackets was to sister the Makerslide to Misumi 2080 extrusion for the full length of the Y axis. Sorta overkill, but it let me very easily build a machine with a 32x60" footprint and 24x48" cutting area. As for 3D CAM software. I have been playing with the Mac beta of MeshC...

Re: Autodesk 123D CNC Utility

I've been trying to generate toolpaths using various "machine" settings in 123D CNC but none of the options seem to output G-Code that Grbl Controller recognizes =( Do yall remember what settings you used? Thanks!

Re: ACME screw upgrade for Shapeoko Z-Axis

Sorry it took so long to get these pictures up. I finally finished the wiring and wanted to test it all to make sure it worked. These pics are how I installed the ACME Z upgrade with the V2 motor plates and with the DW660 mounts from IC. Z Travel is pretty close to stock. As you can tell I had to cu...

Re: ACME screw upgrade for Shapeoko Z-Axis

I have IC's mounts and I tried notching to clear the bolts, but then the mount wasn't far enough off the carriage plate to clear the bearing blocks. So I had to put a spacer on the DW660 mounts themselves to push them away from the carriage to clear. It works for now and I'll try to cut new "farther...

Re: ACME screw upgrade for Shapeoko Z-Axis

I just assembled my upgrade with the V2 Motor plates. Seems to fit fine, the main problem comes from clearance with the DW660 and the now reversed carriage. IE I've had to space the DW660 mounts out 1/4 in to clear the top bearing plate, and trim down the bottom bearing plate by about a 1/4 in (to t...

Re: Shapeoko 2.0 Photo Shoot

Oh man do the new motor plates make more sense now. I've been sitting here staring at them trying to figure out the new Z config for Dual X Motor Plates worked from the drawings... Haha. Thank you for posting these!

Re: Fully Assembled. But running very slowly...

Grbl Controller on OS X. Just found that preference in the menu and that agressive preload toggle was the culprit! Checked that box and bam, the Shapeoko is whizzing through the commands now. Thank you thank you!

Fully Assembled. But running very slowly...

Hi guys. My name is Greg. I am finally getting around to building my Shapeoko after it arriving some... 9 months ago. Anyways, I have everything built and was running the "Hello World" Shapeoko name file and the instructions say it should take about 2 minutes to run and it seems like it takes my mac...
