Re: Measurements against test cut - very poor accuracy

Here is my take on how to establish the accuracy in the x and y directions. 1. Use a suitable CAM program (I used CAMBAM) to produce a 100 mm x 100 mm square. 2. Produce the g code and stream it to a gcode sender 3. Cut the square out using something like 3.2 mm MDF with a sharp cutter that has its ...

Re: Measurements against test cut - very poor accuracy

No I mean 0.3 to 0.5 mm. Do some sample cuts and verify the dimensions as cut vs the dimensions as programmed.

Re: Cutting wood veneer

Having done this already, my suggestion for you is to use a spray adhesive to put the veneer on a substrate that is flat, such as MDF. Re: Measurements against test cut - very poor accuracy

After you have gone through the dual motor Y axis upgrade and (if costs permit) the stiffening of the x axis by using a dual rail, you will still find, as I did, an inaccuracy in the construction of a square, say 100 mm x 100 mm. My solution was to change the parameters the govern the steps per mm i...

Re: Problems with grbl shield and/or USB

The board is not recognized by Universalgcode sender running on my Mac (OS 10.8.2) nor by the same program running on my Toshiba netbook (Win 7 32bit). Is there a USB driver to install for the WIN7 system to work? All of my wiring has been checked over. I turned down the trim pots to cut the amount ...

The driver chips became very hot and I immediately killed the power to the unit. All of the wiring to the st...
