Re: Pulley Drive system 4:1

Nice work! Do you have 2D DXF or DWG files of the parts? It would make it easier to program to cut on the Shapeoko itself. STL files are faceted, so a round hole in an STL file isn't actually round, it has many flat faces. Provided that the file was saved with a high enough resolution this isn't us...

Re: Pulley Drive system 4:1

Very cool. I remember seeing this project when you started it. Any backlash issues in the belt drive? No my backlash actually improved, if you look at data (I measured these many times). With no Pulley Drive just motor and 20 teeth pulley at 2x micro step the max backlash was 0.12mm with the 4:1 dr...

Re: DEWALT DWP611 VS MAKITA RT0700CX

I was reading trough out the post; an did notice no one mention a source for precision collets, both the dewalt and makita could do better the stock collets. Specially if your looking to do precise work. One place I seen mention before on other threads is ... http://www.precisebits.com/gateways/Coll...

Re: Shapeoko #0735, mods evolution... (at least my version)

Very nice! Love the work of plastic/hdpe into the build... I need to get on that as well... Thanks for the post. p.s. are you cutting these out on your other mill... or the shapeoko? I cut them using the Original shapeoko, I had all the parts laying around, but once I cut them I decided to make thi...

That motor mount is NEAT! uploaded... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:158778 Is it suitable for printing in ABS/PLA, or does it need to be milled out of more sturdy stuff? It will work fine, I haven't build a 3D printer yet (in the list, delta 3D printer) I am using HDPE, others have mention using...

Re: Shapeoko #0735, mods evolution... (at least my version)

It looks great. Did the spacer removing made any significant change in the rigidity of the machine ? Can you please post a picture of your belt tensioner ? 1) yes it did, the z axis is much more rigid; have not done any PCBs to test yet but I can tell already it is much more rigid then it was befor...
