Re: Brackets for custom builds

My machines currently disassembled, but here's a pic where it mounts: IMG_1425.JPG Makerslide mounts to the bracket on the top right, facing away from the workspace. I bought my makerslide years ago during the first group buy, so I'm not sure who's selling it now. I've been out of the hobby for awhi...

Brackets for custom builds

IMG_1155.JPG I had these made awhile ago for my own machine, I ended up getting a batch of 50 cut. They were cut on a mill and deburred. Material is 1/8" 6061 aluminum. I'll sell any number of them, I have a 46 left. The hole pattern is designed around using standard 20mm x 40mm extrusions. The hol...

Re: Circuit Board Prototyper Kickstarter

The hardware looks like the easy part. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the hard part seems like it would be their layering software, and setting it up to cover traces and such.

Re: Catan 1 player piece holder

Nice part, I'll have to add that to my list of cool ideas to make when I have time. Those would go nicely with the various custom game tiles that are available.

My friends have the Cities & Knights expansion, we usually stick to the original. Settlers can be a very brutal game :)

Re: Mechanical vs Full Kit..

Do you know about the new Shapeoko 3? I want to make sure you are aware of it, a few people were frustrated when they ordered a Shapeoko 2 and the 3 had just been put up for presale. More info on the main page: http://www.shapeoko.com/

Re: DIY Lathe Help

For the motor, you could potentially use an "outrunner" motor, as Bart Dring did with his spindle concept: http://www.buildlog.net/blog/2011/09/ne ... r-spindle/

Re: New Leatherman "bracelet" tool

Damn, I wanted to get the watch. I was hoping it would be comparable to a Fossil (so $200-250 for a nice one), but $500-600 is way to much for a watch/tool that will get scratched up with use.
