Re: Shapeoko <--> 3D Printer
I have a Ord-bot so I don't have a printer setup on my Shapeoko, but I've been using a 2560Mega/Ramps/Marlin combo for a couple years now. I agree direct drive would be best so you can disconnect the setup at one time. I've used a wades when I used 3mm and it works well. I prefer 1.75 now. If you pr...

Re: Electronics Enclosure with fan and reset button.
I worked in QC for several electronics firms for several years. I'd say your plastic box is the least of your worries... If it is, some conductive tape and a grounding strap will fix ya up. I'm not saying that some additional precautions isn't going to help, but where do you draw the line.

Re: Wiring up a hot end on the cheap
You use tiny ptfe tubing or hi temp shrink tubing on the thermistor. Did you ever figure out which thermistor you have? If I recall correctly there was an acceptable wire twisting method that basically braided the ends together, and you wrap in electrical tape. It was a long time ago when I was show...

Re: Connectors for wiring a machine?
Maybe make a shield type board that brings all those out to one or two connectors, and then do the same for both machines to make the swap easy? @$40 for an Arduino/RAMPS/Drivers it might be worthwhile to just get a controller for the printer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RAMPS-1-4-REPRAP-3D-PRINTER-CONT...

Re: RepStrapOko
Will, as long as you have the proper thermistor chosen in your firmware, just hook it up and heat the hotend in your host software. If it heats and the thermistor is reporting temp then do the Marlin PID Autotune command and enter the results in your firmware or EEPROM. http://reprap.org/wiki/PID_Tu...
