Re: Full depth profile cuts without destroying waste board
I use laminate flooring from Home Depot for $0.79/ sq. ft. At that price, I don't worry about how long to use it, I just put a new piece or pieces down for each job. http://www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMASTER-Lakeshore-Pecan-7-mm-Thick-x-7-2-3-in-Wide-x-50-5-8-in-Length-Laminate-Flooring-24-17-sq-ft-c...

Re: How to position a pre-made panel to accept holes?
You stated that you needed to make cuts at precise locations: - How precise from each cut to the other? - How precise from the holes? - How many total parts do you want to do? I do a lot of this in my business, so this is how I'd do it: Install homing switches. Clamp a spoil board where it will not ...

If you'd really like to be on the bleeding edge of technology, you could try to compile it with Platformio. The (maybe) advantage is that it uses an actual linker and only includes the parts of the libraries that are used. This may free up some memory for other things but only if there is any fluff ...

Re: Losing Connection in Middle of Project
If you run the computer, SO3 and router all off a UPS, the noise will still be able to travel along the AC wiring and the only thing accomplished is a system that still won't work but will survive power outages. All the noise paths still exist. If the noise is conducted along the AC line and is from...

Re: Advice needed : PCB for home switch
Cat, If you use just '04s and add a large value resistor from the output of last inverter to the input of the first inverter, it will give some hysteresis and tend to act like a Schmitt. The ratio of the added resistor to R2 sets the amount of hysteresis. Don't make it too small or you end up with a...

Re: Shapeoko 3 Limit Switch Kits
Of course it isn't symmetrical. It has a hole at one end to pivot and a slot at the other end to adjust for travel so it can be set with one hand to raise and lower the switch position and the other hand to tighten the screw. It is intentionally asymmetric for ease of use. You can adjust it to be le...

I like how few wires flex when the carriage moves. I think that improves reliability although maybe it isn't really required as the motor leads and the Z-axis still flex.
