Re: Hand adjusting Z

I just hand adjust by sort of dragging my finger against the coupler to make it spin.
Works great.

I do like the wheel idea, but I only have motor shaft on one side :-)

Re: My MBE Extruder Build Log (was Eye candy...)

If the bouncing ends up being a dealbreaker, you might try a Bowden-tube version.

Bart has made a QU-BowDen and promises source files soon (in the Delta Bot ORD thread at buildlog).

Re: More OrdBot Parts

A nice workbench vise and a sharp file make very quick work of those holding tabs. The vise is still on my "to get" list :-) And my skills with the files leave something to be desired. Especially on interior curved regions. How did you end up doing the belt clamp? I modeled mine off of Dibloff's at...

Re: More OrdBot Parts

I got sick of cleaning up the holding tabs on aluminum pretty quickly. (also, I've had them fail when my depth was off) So instead, I've taken to breaking the g-code into two files. The first one has all the holes. After it's finished I use the holes to screw the workpiece onto the spoilboard and th...

Re: More OrdBot Parts

Your extruder carriage looks a lot cleaner than mine. I wound up making mine in 2 pieces, joined with a finger joint and jb-weld. Still have some aluminum foil (trying to keep the jb-weld off my clamps) stuck on it in a few places :-) I saw someone on buildlog.net had taken the 2-piece approach with...

I think I remember you can set a current limit on these VFDs. (maybe I'm making that up)
Seems like it could help on the crashes.

Re: Extruders

My qu-bd seems to be working really well now after extensive mods and headaches. Wound up replacing the drive gear with a MK7 style and am using the "minimalistic mk7" design from thingiverse instead of the qu-bd set-screw arrangement. The hot-end is still 100% qu-bd. Although I drilled out the fila...

Re: 4 Axis mod ?

the one I remember from Bart's site was for a laser... I'm not sure if it would hold the workpiece firmly enough for milling.
