Re: Wooden gears

I went ahead and ordered the Primus plans. 35 euros = $44, but I'm sure it took him a lot of hours to create those plans.

I really needed a better answer when people said about my ShapeOko, "Oh, that's cool. What are you going to make with it?"

Re: Wooden gears

Which clock do you plan on making?
I think the Woodentimes Primus is my favorite right now...

Wooden gears

I'm thinking about making a wooden clock. Here's a test to see if I could make a nice gear from .25" MDF.

There are some nice clock plans at a couple different sites.

Re: Missing steps while cutting

If I run the job and touch the drivers it should be apparent right?
Not necessarily. I found that a small fan blowing across the heat sinks solved my problems. It's a pretty cheap and easy test that's worth trying first.

Re: LinuxCNC Basic Explanation..?

I think we could improve the Software section of the wiki. http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Software There are two pieces of software: *G-code sender - you can choose lots of different programs (running on Windows or Linux) - http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Advanced_Software#G-Code_Send...

Re: Pololu Pot Tweaking?

I found three things:
*The heat sinks can get too hot to touch
*When they get too hot it shuts down/misses steps
*A small fan blowing across the heat sinks solves that problem
