Re: Testing connections before power-up

To test your connection of the stepper motor. You can measure between two wires. If you got about 2-5 ohms (depends on motor type) then you have a coil. If you have infinity then it's no coil. If you can't find the second coil then you have a broken wire or coil. For the limit switches connect both ...

Re: Varible speed DC Spindle for PCB milling

I did not think about that yet. Found some normal ballbarings that are used in my hobby. These have to take both the radial as axial load. To drive a methanol engine (16000 rpm, 1.6hp) or edf 628ZZ, 608ZZ or similar ballbarings are used.

Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

OSH Park http://oshpark.com/ has reasonable prices last time I looked, and their website accepts .brd files, so I think you can just upload the file and be on your way. It looks like it has a nice web interface, but I've never actually used any board house. Someone more experienced probably has a b...

Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

Hi Brain, The files are for Eagle CAD 6.4.x http://www.cadsoftusa.com . You must convert the .brd to gebber files. The pcb survice will need these files for product ion. I order the PCB's ad http://www.seeedstudio.com (look under survice & gifts). But you will get 10 pieces of each one. For the elek...

Re: Varible speed DC Spindle for PCB milling

It's the same idea that I've got for my spindle. I have to wait for the mounting brackets for the motor and ER11 collet with 8mm shaft. http://www.ebay.nl/itm/111056518144?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 The motor will be 24V and about 32A. A total of 768W x 85% = 652.8W on the...

Re: Varible speed DC Spindle for PCB milling

Hi danimal,

If you have a ESC that is compatible for helicopters, than there should be a governor in the program. You can use this to define rpm's. And if the motor is under load, the speed shall not drop.

Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

Hello JuiceBox, I will place the .sch and .brd here on the form the same as I did for the "All in One" solution. You can order the PCB where you want. Maby it's better to start a GitHub for eagle projects that have GRBL solutions. Than people like Xpix, Cvoinescu, Godsplan, you and me can have direc...

Re: StepperX: New complete Hardware GRBL solution.

Hi xpix, Download the models.zip and ad the models in your model directory for EagleUp. The Polulu driver board is placed in directory models/connectors/misc/A493NOSKIN.skp. You can rename this to your own model name. Or you can use the RepRapjr.lbr library in eagle for the Polulu driver. Place it i...
