Re: Z Axis retraction

Thanks so much for your reply. First, let me begin by saying that in the file I have the retract height at .21 as I have all of my other files and if I run them the router retracts as it should. Second, a few days ago I installed the Carbide 3D bit setter and since then the Z axis does retract. Toda...

Re: Z Axis retraction

This is an addition to my original post. I attempted to run an old file that I had cut before. When I ran that file the router retracted just as it should. Why the difference? It's got to be in the file. So what changes have I made. I installed the most current Carbide create and Motion files (both ...

Z Axis retraction

I am wondering if anyone can tell me why my Z axis does not retract from my work piece after setting X, Y, and Z axis to zero, loading a new project and telling it to run?

Thanks,

Re: Touch Pad

By gum, you are right! Now I just need to go into Carbide motion and look there. You have been so generous with your time. I can't tell you how thankful I am for your help. Blessings to you!

Re: Touch Pad

I have taken 3 screen shots. The shot numbers are in the order in which I would select them leading from the first to last tab opening.

Re: Touch Pad

I am almost afraid to say this, but I do not see what your post shows. When in Carbide Create, I go to tool path, i double click on a given tool path, up comes "edit tool path" under which there is an "edit" tab. When I click on that tab what comes up is "change tool" and when I select this what ope...

Re: Touch Pad

I feel like I am getting close to resolving this. You tell me to add tools. Can you point me to the video link that shows how to do this?

Re: Touch Pad

When I look at the options available in the drop down box there is no 1/8 option. I would think that for the touchpad to be of much use there should be a way of getting other option in that box. This is the whole point of my post, hoping that this is possible and how it might be done if it is.

Re: Touch Pad

I understand the issue with v bit. So, let me relate my experience to you. I wanted to use a 1/8 inch flat cutting bit. There is no such option available in the drop down box. I did as you suggested. I used the 1/4 inch flat cut option. I then proceeded to cut a boarded, which I had centered on the ...
