Work flow help

I have attached a .jpg picture file and am wondering if anyone can take a look at it and offer some suggestions. In the picture you will note that the stars and the stripes have cut just fine. The next thing it should have cut was a US Navy logo. I stopped the project as it was part way into cutting...

Re: VCarve Advanced Inlay with Enable Area Pocket Tool

I am posting a follow-up to my original. I am guessing that what I originally asked is not possible and so I am rewording my question. So, when I do an inlay how do I get either the male or female part .01 larger or smaller than the other so that the male will in fact fit inside the female?

Feed & Spped

I've got a new tool I'm setting up but I'm not sure about the correct feeds and speeds. The tool is a 1/8 down cut end mill, 3 flutes. I am wondering if the following setting are ok: Plunge rate 20, Feed rate 80, RPM 18,000, Depth 1.0 and Step over 20%. Any thoughts?

VCarve Advanced Inlay with Enable Area Pocket Tool

I would like to do an inlay using alpha characters. I know that if I do an inlay and the male and female pieces are the same size the male parts will not fit into the female parts. My solution to this would be to make the female parts .01 larger. However, I find that the scaling will not allow me to...

Re: Conveting .crv files to .nc files

Regarding this issue, I went to web site guven to me. I could find nothing so I contacted them by e-mail. Here is their response, "Hello, Thanks for your inquiry. I am afraid that we do not: our software can export toolpaths in a CRV file to G-code, but we do not have any free tools or software that...

Re: Conveting .crv files to .nc files

Your presumption about my files. All I want to do is generate g-code from them. My version of the software has a number of .nc file formats, but because my version is so old it does not include anything for Shapeoko. In my original posting I uploaded a number of screen shots showing all the .nc form...

Re: Alpha character inlay

I followed the link you gave me and I downloaded some sort of authorization code. Will I receive a link to the software itself or what?

Thanks,

Re: Conveting .crv files to .nc files

I went to the web address you sent, however, I find nothing that mentions free software that will make the conversion. More than likely I don't know what it is that I am looking for and it is staring me right in the face. Can you please give me a little more detail?

Thanks

Re: Alpha character inlay

William: Thanks for the links. What I have discovered is that there is a feature for doing this in Carbide Create, which I am sure you are already aware of, but it is not active in the free version. If you want to do that you have to upgrade. I would like to do that, but I would do something like th...
